Fragrant Layers Just a Note Card with a Pretty Floral Frame

I'm sharing the first card from my Fragrant Layers Card Class @ Home (CC@H) today, and I love all of the pretty layers on this one! This class features the Fragrant Layers Bundle from Stampin' Up!'s Online Exclusives, along with the Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper and Pearlized Faceted Circles. The Fragrant Layers Bundle was recently added to the Last Chance List, so it's now only available while supplies last. If you like making floral cards, this bundle gives you so many possibilities for changing the look simply by switching the colors and papers you use.

If you weren't able to join me for the Live, the CC@H replay is still available to watch anytime. During the class, I made all three Fragrant Layers cards and showed how the different pieces come together. You can watch the replay whenever it works for your schedule, and you can pause and rewind as much as you need while you're crafting along with me.

The Fragrant Layers Bundle is definitely the star of this first card. I used the large floral die to create the detailed Basic White floral layer in the center of the card. I love how the white outline makes the individual flowers and leaves stand out against the Petal Pink background underneath. The flower petals are Fresh Freesia, the leaves are Old Olive, and those Darling Duckling flower centers add such a cheerful pop of color. I layered the floral panel with Basic White and Petal Pink cardstock before placing it over the DSP. The "Just a Note" greeting is stamped on a white banner with a pretty pierced edge and overlaps the lower right side of the floral panel without covering up the flowers that much.

The Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) makes a beautiful frame around the focal point. This particular pattern has rows of small Fresh Freesia flowers mixed with Old Olive geometric shapes and leaves. The tiny gold foil centers in the flowers add a little extra shine. I cut the DSP with the Perennial Postage Dies, which gives the paper a fun postage stamp look around all four sides. With the Fresh Freesia cardstock layer behind it and the Petal Pink card base, there are lots of layers on this card, but they all work together without taking attention away from the main floral image.

For even more sparkle, I added the Pearlized Faceted Circles to the centers of the three large flowers. I really like how they catch the light and add another little detail right where your eye naturally goes. These are the featured embellishments for this CC@H, and your card kits include enough of them to make all three class cards. The Pearlized Faceted Circles were recently added to the Last Chance List, too, so they're only available while supplies last (and they're on low inventory, too).

The inside of Card 1 is much simpler, but it still coordinates beautifully with the front. I added a Basic White layer to the Petal Pink card base and placed a strip of the same Lovely & Beautiful Specialty DSP along the bottom. It's a quick and easy way to carry the colors and pattern from the front of the card to the inside. There's also plenty of white space left for writing your own message, which is especially nice for a versatile "Just a Note" card.
