Musical Season CPC77 Sketch Card

Happy "Hump" Day! This month has gotten away from me! I usually make my card using the Creating Pretty Cards Sketch the first half of the month, but this is the first chance I've had to make one. This one is CPC77, and it's a great one. It's very original. I would have never thought to angle two pieces of DSP like this. I like it! Buffy did a great job!

I hope you'll play along with the CPC77 Sketch, too! If you do, and we have at least 10 submissions, you could win a full month subscription to Craft Project Central! Your odds of winning are very good. You'll need to hurry though. The last day to submit a card is tomorrow, November 30th! Click Here to find out how.

I used the Musical Season Bundle, along with the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). I added Cherry Cobbler to the Black & White color combo of the DSP, like I have on another card. Actually, I used the Musical Season Bundle with it, too.

 Dimensions:
  • Basic Black:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Whisper White:  4" x 5-1/4" (embossed layer), 2-3/4" x 2-1/4" (greeting layer), & 2" x 3" (mandolin)
  • Cherry Cobbler:  2-7/8" x 2-3/8" (greeting mat)
  • Champagne Foil Sheets:  1" x 2"
  • Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP):  5" x 2" (top piece) & 3" x 2" (bottom piece)
  • Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape:  (2) 1-1/2" (multi-colored metallic tape)
Instructions:
  1. Emboss the largest Whisper White piece by running it through the Big Shot with the Holly Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Attach the long DSP piece across the top part of the embossed piece, attaching it at an angle. Trim off the edges that are hanging over the edges of the embossed piece. Attach the shorter DSP piece onto the right side of the piece, angling it below the first DSP piece (see picture for placement). Trim the right edge that's hanging over the edge of the embossed piece.Attach one of the washi tape pieces along the top, right side of the bottom DSP piece (see picture). Wrap the right end of the tape around to the back of the piece and attach. Fold the Basic Black piece in half to form the card base (fold on the left). Attach the embossed piece to the card base.
  2. Stamp the decorative border stamp from the Musical Season Stamp Set across the bottom & top, long edges of the Whisper White greeting layer piece using the Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the "May the spirit..." stamp in-between the borders using the Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad. Attach the piece to the center of the Cherry Cobbler piece.
  3. Lay the greeting piece down onto the center of the card base, without attaching. Figure out where the second piece of washi tape should go (see picture for placement). Remove the greeting piece, and attach the tape. Then, attach the greeting piece to the card base.
  4. Die-cut the treble clef die from the Musical Instruments Framelits Dies out of the Champagne Foil piece. Attach it to the bottom, left of the greeting piece.
  5. Stamp the mandolin stamp onto the last Whisper White piece using the Cherry Cobbler ink pad. Die-cut it out with the mandolin die. Attach it to the bottom, right of the greeting piece using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (see picture for placement).
Note:  Use SNAIL Adhesive to attach everything, unless told otherwise.

CPC Bonus Project - Christmas Quilt Ensemble

This is this month's bonus project at Craft Project Central. It's designed by Regina Andari.

Whether you need a festive and simple Christmas card or gift packaging and ornaments, you’ll enjoy the projects in this tutorial!  Learn to make two boxes—one for a small gift and one to be hung on the tree, a quilty greeting card, and a tree-shaped ornament made from paper.  The gift box (and the ornament, too) are the perfect size for a gift card or cash!  The embellishments on these projects are pleasing and add just the right amount of texture.  Invite a few friends over, and create these projects together!

To receive access to bonus projects, subscribe to one of Craft Project Central's three, six, or 12 month discounted packages. To get this particular bonus project, make sure that November, 2017 is in the discount package you're subscribing to.

Holiday Tags - The Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop

Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for November 2017. This month our theme is Holiday Tags!  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Christy Fulk @ Create With Christy or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

This was one of the projects that was made at my last stamp camp. I haven't posted them anywhere yet. When I saw the theme of the blog hop, I knew it was time to share them! I had so much fun making these tags and box. The box is the Pizza Box in the Holiday Catalog. As you can see, two of each tag was made to fill the box. Once the tags are used, the box makes a perfect little gift box. Some of my ladies said that they were going to put the tags onto cards, instead of using them as gift tags. I think that's a great alternative idea, too!

I'm including the dimensions for each tag, in case you want to make them yourself. The tags and box are pretty self-explanatory, but I've also included some basic instructions for you.

First step for all of the tags:  The top, short edge of the tag bases were punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Optional:  The "For..From" stamp from the Merry Little Labels Stamp Set was stamped onto the back of each tag, except for the Bethlehem one. For that one, it was stamped onto a 3" x 2" piece of Whisper White Cardstock, punched out with the Everyday Label Punch, and then attached to the back of the tag using SNAIL Adhesive.

The last step for all of the tags:  The ribbon pieces were all folded in half. Then, beginning from the back of the tag, the loop was pulled through the tag opening, and the ribbon ends were threaded through the loop. Then, pull on the ribbon ends to tighten it onto the tag. Then, the ribbon ends were trimmed at an angle.

Snowman Tag:
  • Cherry Cobbler:  2" x 3-1/2" (tag base)
  • Whisper White:  2-3/4" x 2-1/2" (snowman & snowflake)
  • Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP): 2" x 1-1/2" (black snowflake paper)
  • Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape:  3" (narrow silver tape)
  • Rhinestone Basic Jewels:  1 large rhinestone
  • Silver 1/8" Ribbon:  5" (top of tag)
Instructions:
  1. The snowman stamp from the Seasonal Chums Stamp Set was stamped onto one end of the Whisper White piece with the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. It was colored in with the Smoky Slate, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Combo Packs. The right edge of the snowman was colored with the Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blend, and it was softened up using the Color Lifter Stampin' Blend. The snowman was die-cut with the snowman die from the Seasonal Tags Framelits. The top of hat was then trimmed around.
  2. The DSP was attached across the bottom of the tag. Then, the silver washi tape was put across the top of the DSP, and the tape ends hanging over were cut off.
  3. The snowflake die was die-cut from the opposite end of the Whisper White piece, and attached to the top, left corner of the tag with a Mini Glue Dot. A large rhinestone from the Rhinestone Basic Jewels was colored with the Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blend while it was still on the paper backing, and attached to the middle of the snowflake.
  4. The snowman was attached to the right side of the tag using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Let It Snow Tag:
  • Crumb Cake:  2" x 3-1/2" (tag base)
  • Cherry Cobbler:  3" x 2" (label mat)
  • Whisper White:  3" x 2" (image label)
  • Be Merry DSP:  2" x 1-1/2" (Cherry Cobbler reindeer paper)
  • Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape: 3" (2 gold tape and 1 gold-design tape)
  • Gold 1/8" Ribbon:  5"
Instructions:
  1. The DSP piece was attached across the middle of the tag base. The narrow gold tape pieces from the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape were attached across the top and bottom of the DSP layer, and then the tape ends were trimmed off. The gold-design tape was attached across the bottom of the bottom gold tape, and the tape ends were trimmed off.
  2. The "let it snow" stamp from the Merry Little Labels Stamp Set was stamped onto one end of the Whisper White piece using the Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad. It was then punched out with the Everyday Label Punch. A label was punched out of the Cherry Cobbler piece using the same punch.
  3. The Cherry Cobbler label was cut in half (from one long end to the other long end). One half was attached to the back of the stamped label, making sure the top of the Cherry Cobbler half shows from the front. The other half was attached the same way, but to the bottom. Then, the whole thing was attached to the center of the tag using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Bethlehem Tag:
  • Night of Navy:  2" x 3-1/2" (tag base)
  • Shimmery White:  5" x 2" (city-scape) & 2-1/4" x 1-3/4" (Mary & Joseph)
  • Silver Glimmer Paper:  1-1/4" x 2" (star)
  • Silver 1/8" Ribbon:  5"
Instructions:
  1. The star was die-cut out of the Silver Glimmer Paper with the star die from the Bethlehem Edgelits Dies. It was attached to the top, center of the tag base with a Stampin' Dimensional. The top point of the star went over part of the tag opening.
  2. The shorter city-scape die was die-cut from the larger Shimmery White piece. The die-cut was cut into two pieces by cutting in-between the tall, skinny building and short, wide building. The half with the tall skinny building was attached across the tag, directly below the star, with SNAIL Adhesive. The ends that were hanging over the edges of the tag base were cut off. The other half was attached across the tag, about a 1/2" lower than the first, with Stampin' Dimensionals. The ends that were hanging over the edges of this piece were cut off, too.
  3. The Mary & Joseph stamp from the Night in Bethlehem Stamp Set was stamped onto the smaller Shimmery White piece using the Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Pad. Then, it was die-cut with its coordinating die. It was attached to the bottom of city-scape using SNAIL.
Gold, Glittery Tag:
  • Thick Whisper White:  2" x 3-1/2"
  • Gold Glimmer Paper:  3" x 2-1/2" (starburst)
  • Silver Foil:  (2) 1-3/8" x 2" (swirls)
  • Whisper White:  3" x 2" (label)
  • Year of Cheer DSP:  2" x 1" (gold, gingham paper)
  • Gold 1/8" Ribbon:  5"
Instructions:
  1. The DSP piece was attached across the bottom of the tag base.
  2. A sunburst circle was punched out of the Gold Glimmer piece with the Starburst Punch. It was then attached to the center of the tag with SNAIL.
  3. The Wrapped in the..." stamp from the Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Set was stamped onto one end of the Whisper White piece using the Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad. It was then punched out with the Everyday Label Punch.
  4. The swirl die from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies was die-cut out of both Silver Foil pieces. SNAIL Adhesive was put onto the back of the stamped label, along the top and bottom edges. Each swirl was then attached to the back of the label, over that adhesive. Then, the whole thing was attached to the center of the tag using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Christmas Tags Box:
  • Pizza Box:  1
  • Cherry Cobbler:  3-1/4" x 3-1/4"
  • Merry Little Christmas DSP:  3" x 3" (Old Olive diagonal-stripe paper)
  • Crumb Cake:  1-3/4" x 2-1/4" (reindeer)
  • Whisper White:  3-1/4" x 2-1/4" (greeting oval)
  • Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon:  5" & 4"
Instructions:
  1. The box was assembled so the shiny side was on the inside of the box.
  2. The DSP piece was attached to the center of the Cherry Cobbler piece. The longer ribbon piece was wrapped around the bottom of the piece, and the ribbon ends were attached to the back of the Cherry Cobbler piece with scotch tape. The smaller ribbon piece was tied onto the left side of the attached one with a single-knot. The ribbon ends were then trimmed at an angle, and the whole piece was attached to the center of the box lid.
  3. The "Special Delivery..." stamp from the Merry Little Labels Stamp Set was stamped onto the center of the Whisper White piece using the Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad. It was die-cut with the second, largest oval die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. It was then attached to the top, left corner of the box at an angle.
  4. The reindeer stamp from the Seasonal Chums Stamp Set was stamped onto the Crumb Cake piece with the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. The antlers and hooves were colored in with the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend, the inside of the ears and the spots were colored in with the Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend. The bow and nose were colored in with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blend, and the bell was colored in with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend. The reindeer was then die-cut with the reindeer die from the Seasonal Tags Framelits Dies. The top of the antlers were then trimmed around. The reindeer was attached to the bottom, right corner of the box with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Short & Sweet Saturday - Christmas Pines Meets Card Front Builder Thinlits

Well, it's here! Christmas time! I do believe this is my favorite time of the year! Today's card was one I had a group of ladies make at  a scrapbooking crop earlier this month. I CASEd this one from one that Melissa Davies made. As you can see, I did change it up a bit. This card comes together so quick, and it's so beautiful and elegant! Since it comes together so quickly, I knew it would be a perfect Short & Sweet Saturday card.

Yes, I used the Rhinestone Basic Jewels again! This time, I didn't change their color with Stampin' Blends. I wanted them to look just like they come! They're perfect for this card just as they are! Remember, you can get a full pack of Rhinestone Basic Jewels FREE from me with a qualifying order this month (and use this month's host code). You can find out how by CLICKING HERE.

Dimensions:
  • Sahara Sand:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2"
  • Whisper White:  4" x 5-1/4" (embossed layer) & 4-1/2" x 3/4" (banner)
  • Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP):  4" x 1"
  • Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape:  (2) 6" strips (1 of each narrow gold tape and wide gold-design tape)
  • Gold Glimmer Paper:  1-1/2" x 2-1/2" (tree)
  • Champagne Foil Sheets:  1" x 1" (deer)
Instructions:
  1. Emboss the left, three-fourths of the snowflake in the Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Embossing Folder into the center, right side of the larger Whisper White piece. Lay the piece down so the embossed (raised side) of the snowflake is facing down. Attach the DSP piece across the middle part of the card. The top edge of the DSP piece should line up with the center of the debossed snowflake. Wrap the narrow gold tape from the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape across the Whisper White piece, directly below the DSP layer, attaching the tape ends to the back of the Whisper White piece. Attach the wide, gold-design tape directly below the first washi tape the same way.
  2. Fold the Sahara Sand piece in half (fold on the left) to form the card base. Attach the Whisper White piece to the card base.
  3. Punch both ends of the smaller Whisper White piece with the Banner Triple Punch. Stamp the "season of joy" stamp from the Christmas Pines Stamp Set onto the center of the banner using the Smoky Slate Classic Stampin' Pad. Attach the banner across the bottom, right end of the DSP layer on the card.
  4. Die-cut a tree out of the Gold Glimmer Paper piece using the single-tree die from the Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies. Die-cut a deer out of the Champagne Foil Sheet piece using the deer die. Attach the tree to the top, right edge of the banner. Attach the deer to the left side of the tree using Mini Glue Dots. Attach three, small rhinestones from the Rhinestone Basic Jewels onto the card (see picture for placement).
Note:  Use SNAIL Adhesive unless stated otherwise.
