My First Digital Studio Video

Yesterday, I used My Digital Studio (MDS) for something other than making a digital scrapbook. Of course, it's great for that, but there are so many things you can do with MDS.

This time, I used it to plan my 'traditional" scrapbook for my "Album in an Evening" class next month. I wanted to get it all planned out before I started cutting up the paper in my Sunny Day Simply Scrappin' Kit. Now that I have it all figured out, I can cut up the paper without regretting it later! Not all of the Simply Scrappin' Kits are on MDS, but Sunny Day is. That made it so easy.

I also decided to make it into a video. When you watch the video, you'll be seeing two, 2-page layouts at a time. This album is a 6" x 6" scrapbook. The first 2-page layout you see is actually the front and back cover pages of the album. When I made the digital album into a video, I made each picture show for 9 seconds. It works great on my computer, but for some reason, when I uploaded to a Blogger video, it cut about 7-8 seconds off of the first picture. The rest are shown 9 seconds like it should. You'll need to pause the video to be able to see the first 2 layouts. I also could have put background music on the video. I'll have to do that next time!

Tomorrow, I'll begin posting the "traditional" pages of this album. To learn more about this class, please CLICK HERE.

Tropical Party Swap Card

Here is another sneak peek of another stamp set in the upcoming Summer Mini. It's called Tropical Party. It's a great set for all of your summer themed projects. I love the texture that the stamps have.

I made this card for a swap I was in through SCS, so it's another quick and easy card to make. I used an old SCS sketch, SC270. I not only used the Tropical Party set, but I also used the new Island Oasis DSP that coordinates with it. I just love the colors in this paper. So summery!

Summer Mini Sneak Peek!

I can't believe it's been over a week since I've posted! Some of you were probably wondering if I disappeared! Last week was extremely busy, and the last two days my husband was home with Vertigo. Monday was his worst day. The world spun around off and on all day. The first episode was when he was driving to work. Thankfully, he wasn't that far away from home, but he did think he was going to wreck his truck. The Lord was definitely with him. With His help, Ken was able to get to the side of road and wait until the episode ended. He came straight home. Very scary!

I loved having home, but I wasn't able to get what I needed to get done with my stamping. I was his chauffeur for both days. He seems to be completely over it now, so he's back to driving himself and back to work. Now, I can get back to work.

I used the wonderful stamp set, Elements of Style, to make the card below. It will be in the upcoming Summer Mini Catalog that begins May 1. This set is so beautiful and elegant. I just love it!

With the Summer Mini just days away, that also means that the Occasion Mini is about to end. If you still want to order some things from the Occasions Mini, you'll need to hurry. You have until this Friday, April 30th to order from this mini online.

Technique Club is Tonight!

Tonight is technique club night! Club members will be learning the Baby Wipe Technique. I knew that the sneak peek set, Awash With Flowers, would look great with this technique. I'm having so much fun with this set. I do have a lot of flower sets, but this one is different from all of them. I really like it a lot!

This set will be in the new Idea Book & Catalog July 1st, but Stampin' Up! is making it available during April. Also, qualifying workshops during April will automatically get this set free! There is still a little time to book an April workshop, but you'll need to hurry! They'll need to be scheduled in the next week or so for the end of the month. That way, invitations can be sent out in time. If you want to book a workshop, just E-MAIL ME. To see all of the images for this set, CLICK HERE

Masculine Birthday Card

I made this card for my dad's birthday last Saturday. Masculine cards are always harder for me to make, but I think this one came out pretty good. He really liked it.

I brayered Crushed Curry ink over Whisper White card stock, covering it completely. Then I punched out a circle from a post-it note, and attached it where I wanted the sun. Then I brayered over the piece again, using Dusty Durango ink. I then removed the post-it circle, revealing the sun underneath. Then, I stamped the flowers on with Chocolate Chip ink, and sponged the edges of the card stock with Chocolate Chip ink. I love doing this technique, it's so beautiful!

Stamps: Upsy Daisy and En Francais BG sets

Ink: Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, & Chocolate Chip Classic Pads

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, & Whisper White card stock

Accessories: Brayer, Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon, Large and Scallop Oval Punches, & Stampin' Dimensionals

MojoMonday Sketch #134

I haven't done a MojoMonday Sketch for awhile, and decided to take the time to do it today. I was dying to use one of the sets that came last Friday. As a demonstrator, I'm allowed to order items from the upcoming minis a month early. This is one of the many perks of being a demonstrator I like! If you would like to have this perk, too, just let me know. I'd love to tell you more about becoming a demonstrator!

The set I used today is called Elements of Style. This set is so beautiful! I love it! All of the colors I used are ones that will be retired June 30th. To see all of the colors that will be retired, and to see the new color combinations coming July 1st, CLICK HERE.

Easter Bunny Scrapbook Layout

Happy Friday, everyone! Today's post is a scrapbook layout that's going to be made at this month's Scrap In A Flash!. To find out more about this event, please go to my EVENTS CALENDAR.

The bunny was made using the Full Heart, Heart to Heart, & Boho Blossoms punches on p. 186 in the big Idea Book & Catalog, and the Small Heart Punch on p. 11 in the Occasions mini. If you click on one of the pictures, you'll be able to see the bunny better.

His head and body are upside-down hearts made with the Full Heart Punch. His ears and feet are made with the same Full Heart Punch, but the hearts were cut in half. His nose was made with the Small Heart Punch, and the carrots were made with the Heart to Heart Punch. His little tail was made with one of the small flowers of the Boho Blossoms punch. I used a regular paper hole punch to make his eyes.

I sponged Pretty In Pink ink inside his ears and on his cheeks to add a little color. I also drew on whiskers with my Basic Black marker, and drew the little white in his eyes with my white gel pen.
The Easter eggs were punched out with the Wide Oval Punch. Half were punched out of designer paper, and the other half were punched out of card stock, and stamped with the little images. The grass is just a strip of Green Galore card stock that I cut along the top to make the grass.

Announcing - New Color Renovation!

Yes, two posts in one day! Stampin' Up! announced yesterday that beginning July 1 (when the new catty comes out), Stampin' Up! will have new color collections! Some of the current colors are coming back, along with 5 brand new colors AND 10 returning In Colors! I just found out that I can share these color charts with you, and I decided to do it right away!

Why is Stampin' Up! doing this, you ask? Stampin' Up! has always tried to stay up-to-date with current trends, and they knew that some of the current colors were getting a little old. I love the new collections! They're gorgeous! I'm so excited...I can't wait to get my hands on them!

To see the colors better, just click on the picture above right.

The new colors are Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, & Marina Mist. They've also come out with an ink pad to match the Kraft card stock and renamed it as well. It's now called Crumb Cake.

The In Colors that are coming back are Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, River Rock, Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, & Wild Wasabi.

There will be a total of 40 core colors. There will also be 5 new In Colors that come out every year with one change...they will stick around for 2 years instead of just 1! That means this coming year (beginning July 1), there will be 5 In Colors, but there will be 10 In Colors to choose from the years after that.

With new colors coming, this means some of the old colors will be retiring. They will be available to purchase until the end of June. So, you have about 3 months to buy the colors you don't have. I suggest that you buy the ink refills for the ink pads. That way, the ink pads will be good for many years to come! You'll probably want to stock up on the card stock and the accessories that are in these colors before their gone, too. If you have a demonstrator, just give her a call. If you don't have a demonstrator, you can contact me to place your order or ORDER ONLINE ANYTIME (Click Shop Now).

To see the retiring colors better, just click on the picture above left. The list of colors that are retiring are:

More Spring Stamp-A-Stack Cards

As I promised yesterday, here are two of the cards being made at my Stamp-A-Stack next week. You can tell by just looking at the bottom card how I made it (got the idea from a card in the big catty), but you may not be able to tell how I did the top one. It's very simple and quick.

I ran the Naturals White card stock through my Big Shot using the Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions Folder. Then, I brushed Stampin' Pastel chalks over the raised images using sponge daubers. I used Taken with Teal & Rose Red pastels on the flowers, Old Olive pastels on the leaf type shapes and dots, and Pumpkin Pie pastels on the swirls. I love the effect the chalks have on the dry embossed images.

Stamps: Well Scripted (Mini)

Ink: Taken With Teal
