Happy "Hump" Day! This month has gotten away from me! I usually make my card using the Creating Pretty Cards Sketch the first half of the month, but this is the first chance I've had to make one. This one is CPC77, and it's a great one. It's very original. I would have never thought to angle two pieces of DSP like this. I like it! Buffy did a great job!
I hope you'll play along with the CPC77 Sketch, too! If you do, and we have at least 10 submissions, you could win a full month subscription to Craft Project Central! Your odds of winning are very good. You'll need to hurry though. The last day to submit a card is tomorrow, November 30th! Click Here to find out how.
I used the Musical Season Bundle, along with the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). I added Cherry Cobbler to the Black & White color combo of the DSP, like I have on another card. Actually, I used the Musical Season Bundle with it, too.
- Basic Black: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
- Whisper White: 4" x 5-1/4" (embossed layer), 2-3/4" x 2-1/4" (greeting layer), & 2" x 3" (mandolin)
- Cherry Cobbler: 2-7/8" x 2-3/8" (greeting mat)
- Champagne Foil Sheets: 1" x 2"
- Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP): 5" x 2" (top piece) & 3" x 2" (bottom piece)
- Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape: (2) 1-1/2" (multi-colored metallic tape)
Instructions:
- Emboss the largest Whisper White piece by running it through the Big Shot with the Holly Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Attach the long DSP piece across the top part of the embossed piece, attaching it at an angle. Trim off the edges that are hanging over the edges of the embossed piece. Attach the shorter DSP piece onto the right side of the piece, angling it below the first DSP piece (see picture for placement). Trim the right edge that's hanging over the edge of the embossed piece.Attach one of the washi tape pieces along the top, right side of the bottom DSP piece (see picture). Wrap the right end of the tape around to the back of the piece and attach. Fold the Basic Black piece in half to form the card base (fold on the left). Attach the embossed piece to the card base.
- Stamp the decorative border stamp from the Musical Season Stamp Set across the bottom & top, long edges of the Whisper White greeting layer piece using the Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the "May the spirit..." stamp in-between the borders using the Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad. Attach the piece to the center of the Cherry Cobbler piece.
- Lay the greeting piece down onto the center of the card base, without attaching. Figure out where the second piece of washi tape should go (see picture for placement). Remove the greeting piece, and attach the tape. Then, attach the greeting piece to the card base.
- Die-cut the treble clef die from the Musical Instruments Framelits Dies out of the Champagne Foil piece. Attach it to the bottom, left of the greeting piece.
- Stamp the mandolin stamp onto the last Whisper White piece using the Cherry Cobbler ink pad. Die-cut it out with the mandolin die. Attach it to the bottom, right of the greeting piece using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (see picture for placement).
Note: Use SNAIL Adhesive to attach everything, unless told otherwise.
