Today I'm sharing the second card from my Fragrant Layers Card Class @ Home (CC@H), and this one has a completely different look from Card 1! That's one of the things I enjoy most about working with a versatile floral bundle. This class features the Fragrant Layers Bundle from Stampin' Up!'s Online Exclusives, and changing the colors and the way the images are used gives each of the three cards its own personality. The Fragrant Layers Bundle was recently added to the Last Chance List, so it's only available while supplies last.
The CC@H Live replay is still available to watch, so you can see exactly how I made this card along with the other two cards from the class. Instead of using the large floral die as the main focal point like I did on Card 1, this card really shows off the stamped images in the Fragrant Layers Bundle. I created a large floral arrangement around the edges of the Basic White cardstock using the beautiful flower and leaf images. The bright Calypso Coral flowers are especially eye-catching, and their dark outlines bring out all of the details in the petals. I added Old Olive leaves and Darling Duckling flower centers to bring even more color into the arrangement. The flowers wrap around the upper left, lower left, and upper right portions of the panel, leaving an open area for the "It's Your Day!" greeting. An Old Olive cardstock mat helps frame the stamped panel and makes the leaves stand out even more.
The Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) covers the top half of the card front behind the focal panel. This pattern has a soft watercolor look with flowers and leaves in Calpyso Coral, Petal Pink, and Fresh Freesia. There are also shiny gold foil flower centers throughout the design. Because the stamped focal panel has such strong, crisp floral images, I love the contrast of putting it against the softer watercolor flowers in the DSP.
I used the Pearlized Faceted Circles in a different way on this card. Instead of simply scattering them around the card front, I placed them in the centers of the small Petal Pink die-cut flowers that are tucked among the larger stamped flowers. That extra shine helps the little flowers stand out against the bolder stamped images. These embellishments are included in the CC@H card kits, so you'll have enough to complete the class projects. They're also now on the Last Chance List and are only available while supplies last.
For the inside of Card 2, I kept the design clean and simple while repeating the floral theme from the front. The Basic White inside layer has part of the same floral arrangement stamped in the upper left corner, using the same colors as the front. I love that the images come in from the edges just like they do on the front of the card. Most of the inside is left open, giving you plenty of room to add a personal message for the person you're celebrating.
