Day 6 – Cupcake Birthday Card - 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar Series
Day 6 of my 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar Series is all about sweet, simple birthday cheer—and this cupcake card delivers exactly that. With clean layers, bold color contrast, and just the right amount of whimsy, this is one of those designs that works for just about anyone and any age.
In today’s video tutorial, I walk you through the full creation of this Day 6 card step by step as part of my 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar Series. You’ll see how the stamped images come together, how I layered the card front for visual interest, and how simple details make the design feel polished without adding extra work. This card features a bright and happy color palette paired with a classic layout that lets the stamped images shine. The cupcakes instantly steal the show, making this card perfect for birthdays when you want something handmade but not overly complicated. It’s fun, cheerful, and absolutely beginner-friendly, while still being satisfying for seasoned stampers.
The front of the card features three cupcakes stamped in a row, creating a strong focal point that feels playful but balanced. The sentiment panel anchors the design and adds a clean finish, while the textured background layer, which is a sneak peek of All in a Row Embossing Folder coming out January 6th, gives the card depth without overwhelming the focal images. This layout is one you’ll want to save—it’s easy to swap out images and sentiments for other occasions.
The Day 6 product in the 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar is a pack of adorable puffy embellishments, and they add such a fun, playful touch to handmade cards. On this cupcake birthday card, the strawberries on top of the cupcakes are some of the embellishments included in the pack.
