12 Weeks of Fall & Halloween 2023 - Week #3

It's time for another 12 Weeks of Fall & Halloween 2023 project! I'm a few hours late, but I'm so glad I was able to still get it posted on Friday. As promised in last week's video, I made a Halloween Treat Bag with the bag die in the Tricks & Treats Bundle from the new September-December 2023 Mini Catalog (Holiday Mini).

I'll Post a New 12 Weeks of Fall & Halloween Project
Every Friday @ 4 pm (ET) Through November 10th!

I really think the bag die in this bundle makes a great treat bag. You die-cut it twice, and then put the pieces together. It's not hard at all. You can learn how to make the bag in my video above.

The haunted house was die-cut with on of the dies in the bundle. The tombstones don't have a die, but I fussy cut them out with Paper Snips. Of course, the "Boo" was die-cut, too. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but I brushed a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush all over the "Boo" die-cut to make it glittery. I wish the picture showed it better...it really looks good in person!

Doesn't that moon look cool? I punched it out of piece of Basic White cardstock with the 2" Circle Punch. I could have punched it out of a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock, but it wouldn't have looked as spooky. I add Crushed Curry ink to the white circle using a Blending Brush. I like how it's darker and lighter in different places. That's what gives it the eerie-look I was going for. After I did that, I stamped the bats stamp in the bundle's stamp set to make it even more spooky! Make sure to watch the video for my tips on how to do this moon.

The tombstones are on one stamp, and I wanted them to be different colors. So, I colored the stamp with three Stampin' Write Markers...Starry Sky, Cajun Craze, & Granny Apple Green.

I just had to add a glow-in-the-dark ghost from the Glow-in-the-Dark Bats & Ghosts in the Holiday Mini. Doesn't it look cool on the haunted house? These cute embellishments sold out on the first day the Holiday Mini went Live, but don't worry! Another shipment is supposed to come in the week of September 25th.

Here's the back of the treat bag. This shows off the cute Designer Series Paper (DSP) I used. Both of these designs are in the Them Bones DSP in the Holiday Mini. This DSP is one of the best Halloween DSP packs we've had, in my opinion. It's so cute! There are few designs in the pack that can be used for projects other than Halloween, and I showed that in my Thursday night Live last night. I'll be posting those cards over the next few days.

Dimensions (CS = Cardstock):
  • Basic White CS:  4" x 3" (haunted house, moon, & tombstones)
  • Basic Black CS:  1" x 1-3/4" ("boo" die-cut)
  • Them Bones DSP:  (2) 4-3/4" x 5-1/4" (bag)
    • 8-1/2" x 1-1/2" (Starry Sky strip)
  • Starry Sky Metallic Woven Ribbon:  (2) 12"
