Eclipse Technique - Painted Harvest

Today's card is one that my monthly technique club made last month. It features the Eclipse Technique. If you're on Pinterest, I'm sure you've seen it used A LOT! I used one of my all time favorites, the Painted Harvest Stamp Set. As you can see, I didn't use it as a sunflower this time.

Dimensions:
  • Elegant Eggplant:  5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (card base)
  • Smoky Slate:  5-1/4" x 4" (base layer)
  • Whisper White:  (2) 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" (stamped layer and inside)
  • Smoky Slate 1/2" Gingham Ribbon:  7" & 5"
Instructions:
  1. Fold the Elegant Eggplant piece in half to form card base (fold on top). Attach the Smoky Slate piece to the center of the card base.
  2. Stamp the "happy birthday" stamp from the Birthday Blossoms Stamp Set using the Smoky Slate Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the larger flower stamp from the Painted Harvest Stamp Set two full times and one partial time onto the top part of the Whisper White piece using the Wisteria Wonder Classic Stampin' Pad (see the left picture for placement). The bottom, right flower should be about 3/4" above the greeting. Stamp the smaller flower stamp on top of the stamped flowers using the Elegant Eggplant Classic Stampin' Pad. FYI:  The center of the flower images is what needs to be lined up when stamping the darker flower layer. Stamp the flower center stamp into the center of both full flowers and the partial (if needed), using the Smoky Slate Classic Stampin' Pad.
  3. Lay the "Y", "O", and "U" dies from the Large Letters Framelits Dies across the flower section of the piece, centering it in-between the left & right sides of the piece (see the left picture for placement). Run it through the Big Shot. Remove the die-cut letters, making sure to keep the center of the "O". Wrap the longest Smoky Slate 1/2" Gingham Ribbon piece around the piece, just above the greeting, and attach the ribbon ends to the back using SNAIL Adhesive. Tie the smallest ribbon piece onto the left side of the ribbon using a single knot. Attach the piece to the center of the Smoky Slate layer on the card. Make sure to put SNAIL Adhesive on the pointed part of the "Y' opening and the center sections of the "U" opening.
  4. Attach the letters inside their coordinating openings in the Whisper White layer using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. Put SNAIL Adhesive onto the back of the center of the "O". Insert it inside the "O" die-cut, and attach it to the card.
  5. Inside of Card (right picture):  Stamp the flower, the same way as the front, onto the bottom, left corner of the Whisper White inside piece (refer to Step #2 ). Attach the piece to the inside of the card.
Note:  When attaching the "O" and it's center, make sure the pieces are right side up (the images should line up).
