60th Birthday Card - Coffee Cafe

I just realized that I never posted the card I made for my hubby for his 60th birthday last July! He loves Starbuck's coffee, so I had to use the Coffee Cafe bundle for his card! He really liked it, too!

I used the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper (DSP) on this card, and it's one of the DSP packs that's included in the Buy 3 Get 1 Free Sale. It really goes well with this card. Don't forget...this sale ends on October 31!

Dimensions:
  • Garden Green:  5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (card base) & 2" x 1-1/2" (cup band)
  • Crumb Cake:  5-1/4" x 4" (base layer) & scraps (coffee beans)
  • Early Espresso:  2-1/4" x 4" (DSP mat)
  • Whisper White:  3-1/4" x 3" (cup, lid, & numbers) & 5-1/4" x 4" (inside of card)
  • Soft Sky:  3-1/2" x 3-1/4" ( "Happy Birthday" die-cut)
  • Coffee Break Designer Series Paper (DSP):  2" x 4" (dotted paper), 5-1/4" x 1" (Soft Sky print inside card), & small coffee cup
Instructions:
  1. Stamp the Burlap Background Stamp onto the large Crumb Cake piece using the Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad. Attach the dotted paper from the Coffee Break DSP piece across the center of the Early Espresso piece, and then attach it to the left side of the Crumb Cake piece.
  2. Fold the large Garden Green piece in half to form the card base (fold on top). Attach the Crumb Cake/DSP piece to the card base.
  3. Die-cut the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die out of the Soft Sky piece. Attach it to the bottom, right corner of the Crumb Cake layer using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. Stamp the coffee beans stamp from the Coffee Cafe Stamp Set two times onto scraps of Crumb Cake Cardstock using the Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad. Die-cut both coffee bean sets out with the coordinating die from the Coffee Cups Framelits Dies. Attach them both above the Happy Birthday die-cut using Mini Glue Dots.
  4. Stamp the large coffee cup stamp from the Coffee Cafe Stamp Set onto the smaller Whisper White piece using the Early Espresso ink pad. Stamp the lid stamp onto the same piece using the same ink pad. Stamp the "6" & "0" block stamps from the Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set onto the same piece with the same ink pad. Stamp the "TH" stamp from the same alphabet stamp set onto the bottom, right corner of the cup image with the same ink pad. Die-cut the coffee cup and lid out with their coordinating dies from the Coffee Cups Framelits Dies. Fussy cut the number blocks out with Paper Snips. Attach the number blocks next to the "TH" on the cup using Mini Glue Dots. Attach the lid to the top of the cup.
  5. Die-cut the cup band out of the smaller Garden Green piece using the solid, embossing cup band die. Attach the cup band across the cup. Attach a heart from the Corrugated Elements to the center of the cup band. Wrap Linen Thread around four fingers about five or six times and cut it off of the thread in the package. Slip the thread off of the fingers, and twist the loops together in the middle. Lay the twisted middle onto the back, middle of the cup, and attach it by putting a Stampin' Dimensional over the twisted part of the thread. Put a few more Stampin' Dimensionals onto the back of the cup, and attach it to the top, left corner of the card, at an angle. Spread the loops of the thread apart a bit.
  6. Inside of card:  Attach the Soft Sky print paper from the Coffee Break DSP across the bottom of the larger Whisper White piece. Die-cut one of the small cups in the designer paper with small coffee cups all over it using the small cup die from the Coffee Cups Framelits Dies. Attach the cup to the top, left side of the DSP strip. Attach the whole thing to the inside of the card.
