Live Replay - Shaker Card Made With Flip Flaps

Today's card was the card I made during my Weekly Live last night. I've seen the shaker cards made with our clear envelopes, and I thought I'd see if it would work with our new Flip Flaps. I'm happy to say, that they work!

Here's the Live That Teaches How to Make It:

I've added chapters to the above video, so you can jump to the sections you want to watch.

My shaker card features most of the products from the fun Wildflower Birthday Suite in the January-April 2025 Mini Catalog. I do believe this is my favorite birthday suite we've ever had! As you can see, you can make beautiful birthday cards with it, but the products in it are perfect for scrapbooking, too! They're so perfect that Stampin' Up! has come out with a Wildflower Celebrations Scrapbooking Workshop Kit. It's got a few elements that are different from the suite, but they still look like they're part of the suite! The scrapbooking line also includes the actual Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the suite, along with a sticker sheet! Have you seen our scrapbooking line? If you haven't, CHECK IT OUT HERE.

The Wildflower Birthday Suite products I used on my card are the Birthday Celebrations Bundle (I actually only used the stamp set in the bundle, but you'll want the dies, too), Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP, & Gold Open Weave Trim. You can find the links to these products, and everything else I used on this card, in the supply list and in the print-off sheet below. The only product I didn't use from the suite is the Party Dots. Another thing I love about this suite is that you're not limited to just making birthday projects. Only use the flowers to make many more different-themed projects, too!

I love shaker cards, but the original way of making them makes the cards extra thick, and they take a little while to make. Then, at a Stampin' Up! event, a demo (I can't remember who) showed us how to make a shaker card with our clear envelopes. I think she called it a faux shaker card, but I still think it's a shaker card. If you can shake it, and it makes embellishments move around, it's a shaker card. LoL

BTW, the Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP has two 12" x 12" sheets of die-cuts, and the cake and flower die-cuts on my card came from these die-cuts. If you want to see all of the designs in the DSP pack, I show them all in the video above. You might also be wondering what I put on the inside of the shaker part. I used the Loose Frosted Dots, and they are in the Online Exclusives section of the online store.

Thinking about those shaker cards, I got to thinking about our new Flip Flaps. I started wondering if I could make a shaker card with them, too. I'm so glad I tried it, because it works! It's easy to do, too. The nice thing about using our Flip Flaps is that they come in different sizes! That gives so many different options on the size of shaker element you want to make. On my card, I used the 4" x 4" Flip Flaps. Here are all of the Flip Flaps we offer...

My card is kinda like an overlay card, too. A smaller 4-1/2" x 4-1/4" card is placed onto a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of cardstock that has a strip of DSP on each end. I added one of the cupcake die-cuts that comes in the Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP to finish off the inside of the card.

Instead of just listing the measurements in the post, I've made a free project sheet that lists all of the measurements for you. You can save it and/or print it off, get your supplies together, and then watch the video above to make the card along with me. Oh, yeah, it also includes links to all of the supplies I used, too.
