Halloween Theme Week - Spooky Sweets

I'm continuing my Halloween Theme Week with a Halloween card made with the Spooky Sweets Bundle from the Stampin' Up!® Holiday Catalog. The bundle includes the Spooky Sweets Stamp Set and the Spooky Bats Punch. You can purchase them separately, but if you purchase them as a bundle, you'll save 10%. I also used the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper (DSP) & Black Foil Sheets from the Holiday Catalog.

Spooky Sweets Bundle

I used some items from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog, too. I used the Cat Punch, 2-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-1/8" Scallop Circle Punch, and the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. After punching it out, I sponged the edges with ink from the Uninked Craft Stampin' Pad & Whisper White Ink Refill. I love how doing this makes the cat "glow"!

Dimensions:
  • Pumpkin Pie:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Basic Gray:  4" x 5-1/4" (embossed layer)
  • Crushed Curry:  3" x 2-1/2" (moon)
  • Basic Black:  3" x 2-1/2" (cat)
  • Whisper White:  4" x 2-1/2" (bats and scallop circle)
  • Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper (DSP):  4" x 1-1/2"
  • Black Foil Sheets:  (2) 4" x 1/2"
  • Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon:  6"

Instructions:
  1. Emboss the Basic Gray piece by running it through the Big Shot with the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Sponge the tree trunks with a Sponge Dauber and the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. Put SNAIL Adhesive onto the back of the DSP piece, along both long edges. Attach a Black Foil Sheet piece across each long edge, making sure about a 1/8" of each strip shows from the front of the DSP piece. Attach the piece across the bottom part of the Basic Gray piece (see picture). Wrap the organdy ribbon piece around the center of the DSP layer, and attach the ribbon ends to the back of the Basic Gray piece. Fold the Pumpkin Pie piece in half (fold on the left) to form the card base. Attach the Basic Gray piece to the center of the card front.
  2. Punch out a circle from the Crushed Curry piece using the 2-1/4" Circle Punch. Stamp the textured stamp from the Spooky Sweets Stamp Set onto the left center of the circle, and the top & bottom of the right side using the Memento Pad. Punch a cat out of the Basic Black piece using the Cat Punch. Sponge the edges of the cat with a Sponge Dauber and the Uninked Craft Stampin' Pad & Whisper White Refill. Attach the "moon" to the card (a little left of center, and overlapping the top Black Foil piece). Attach the cat to the card, so it's over the moon, and just above the ribbon, using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  3. Stamp the bats stamp onto one end of the Whisper White piece (stamping them upside down), using the Memento Pad. Punch the bats out with the Spooky Bats Punch. Stamp the "Happy Halloween" stamp onto another section of the same Whisper White piece using the same ink pad. Punch the greeting out with the 1-1/8" Scallop Circle Punch. Sponge the edges with a Sponge Dauber and the Memento Pad.
  4. Attach the bats to the card, using a Mini Glue Dot onto the center of each one (see picture for placement). Attach the scallop circle to the bottom, right of the card, over the ribbon, using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Use SNAIL Adhesive when attaching, unless stated otherwise.
