Live Stream Replay - Nests of Christmas Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Yesterday's Live featured my alternative cards for the Nests of Christmas Kit. This is the October 2024 Paper Pumpkin (PP) Kit. Sadly, the refill for this BEAUTIFUL kit is no longer available. If you have this kit, and want to double the cards you can make with it, you might want to consider my alternatives.

I wasn't able to make the original cards, because I didn't have enough ribbon, but I scanned the picture that was in the kit so I could show you. It's hard to tell in the picture, but these cards are tri-fold cards, and they're beautiful! There is enough in the kit to make a total of 10 Christmas cards (5 each design), but I wanted to be able to make even more! So, I cut up the card bases, and made the four cards pictured at the top of the post. You can make five each of these cards to get a total of 20 Christmas cards, and they're so easy to make, too!

I love the blues & greens in these cards, and I especially LOVE the pop of red on all of them, too. I can't say which card I made first, because I kinda made them at the same time. I started by cutting all of the card bases into three different layers, and then I played around with different ways to layer all of these pieces along with the die-cuts in the kit until I came up with my four card designs.

Under each card below, I've included the paper sizes for you so you don't have to write everything down while you're watching the video above.

Card Base: Shaded Spruce Cardstock - 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"
Base Layer: 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" (Night of Navy/Blueberry Bliss layer from kit)
PP Kit Pieces:

Single chickadee on a small evergreen branch
The piece punched out of the curved Coastal Cabana frame piece.
The smaller branch that was cut-off of the smaller chickadee die-cut
One of the longer banner die-cuts
One of the ribbon pieces

Optional: Since only half of the ribbon is showing under the banner, you can cut the ribbon in half lengthwise to have more pieces of the ribbon for the other cards.

Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed (AB) Berries: 2 single & one cluster (Cherry Cobbler berries)

These berries are optional...the card still looks good without them.

Inside of card: Basic White Cardstock - 4" x 5-1/4"

Card Base: Night of Navy Cardstock - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"
Frame Layer: 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" (Shaded Spruce frame from kit)

Cut 1/8" off each side to get the correct size to keep the frame sides even.

Base Layer Under Frame: 5-1/4" x - 4" (Night of Navy/Shaded Spruce foil piece from kit)
PP Kit Pieces:

The small chickadee that was cut away from the branches
The larger branch that was cut away from the small chickadee
One of the shorter banner die-cuts
One of the ribbon pieces

This piece was cut in half to make two short pieces to be put on each side of the banner.

Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed (AB) Berries: 2 single & one cluster (Pearl berries)

These berries are optional...the card still looks good without them.
