As I promised in the FIRST CARD'S POST, the second card in my Card Class @ Home is a Christmas one. I've always loved the red pickup Christmas decor that's so popular, so I HAD to make a little red pickup for my Christmas card. Have I said yet how much fun this stamp set is? There are 26 STAMPS in this set, and I know I'll evetually use all of them when I make more cards with it in the future. I actually used most of them on my three cards for this class!
I used the Trucking Along Builder Punch from the bundle this time. The stamp set in the bundle is available to buy right now, but the punch isn't. Don't worry, it'll be back, but not until the middle part of October. I didn't use the punch on the other two cards in the class, so you can definitely get the stamp set now and make some great projects with it while you wait for the punch to be available again.
If you place a qualifying order (see above) to get my card kits, you DO NOT need the punch to make this card. I'll include 8 punched trucks in the card kit for you to stamp on! That's more than you'll need to make two of this Christmas card, so you'll have extra to use when you make more cards with the stamp set.
I used another great design from the Let's Go Fishing Designer Series Paper (DSP) for my Christmas card, too. I'm loving this DSP pack A LOT MORE than I thought I would. I liked it from the beginning, but now that I've had a chance to use it for my Trucking Along Card Class @ Home, I like it even more! I love the linen-look the designs have...so cool!
I used the Deckled Rectangles Dies again, and this time I used two of the dies. One to make the image layer and the other one to make a mat for it. There are 8 sizes in the die set, and they layer quite well together.
For my Card Class @ Homes, I pick out one embellishment for all three cards, and I chose the Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots from the Annual Catalog for this class. These dots have two sizes in the pack. On my Christmas card, I used two large dots for the tires' hubcaps, and I added a small dot to the top, right corner of the greeting layer. I wanted to do something a little different for the inside of the card. Instead of stamping the whole truck, I only stamped the front half of it. I wanted to make sure to show part of the truck bed so part of the tree could be seen. I think it kinda looks like it's driving onto the card.
