In the Pines Showcase - Facebook Live Replay

I was beginning to think I'd never get this post written! LoL I had so much fun making these cards, and really wanted to share them here, too.

I wanted to make 3, totally different, cards featuring the beautiful In the Pines Bundle from the Stampin' Up! August - December 2020 Mini Catalog. You can learn how to make them in the video below.

This card features more traditional Christmas colors than the other two cards. I love the Plaid Tiding Designer Series Paper (DSP) behind the tree cut-out. Actually, I just LOVE the Plaid Tiding DSP! The greeting comes from the For Unto Us Stamp Set, which is also in the Aug - Dec Mini Catalog.

I added a lot of texture to this card. The Shaded Spruce layer is embossed with the GORGEOUS Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder from the Aug - Dec Mini, and the tree layer was embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder from the Annual Catalog. I "topped" the card off with a tree topper using a Star Designer Element. The complete supply list is below the video.

This is the inside of the card. The sentiment also comes from the For Unto Us Stamp Set.

Dimensions:
  • Cherry Cobbler:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base) and 4" x 2-1/4" (DSP strip mat)
  • Shaded Spruce:  4" x 5-1/4" (embossed base layer)
  • Crumb Cake:  2-1/2" x 3-1/2" (embossed tree layer) & 4" x 5-1/4" (inside)
  • Whisper White:  Scrap piece (greeting label)
  • Plaid Tidings DSP:  3" x 4" (tree mat) and 4" x 2" (horizontal strip)

This card has more of a rustic look to it. The In the Pines Stamp Set was the only stamp set used on this one. I wish you could see this one in person! The embossed trees in the background, made with the Evergreen Forest Embossing Folder, shimmer so beautifully! Learn how to get this effect in the video below.

The patterned paper I used comes from the Flowers for Every Season DSP in the Annual Catalog. I used the Tasteful Textile embossing folder again on a strip of Champagne Foil. The banner was made with the Banners Pick a Punch in the Aug - Dec Mini Catalog. Once again, the complete supply list is below the video.

Here's the inside of the card. You can easily add a sentiment from the For Unto Us Stamp Set to the inside as well.

Dimensions:
  • Just Jade:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Whisper White:  (2) 4" x 5-1/4" (embossed base layer & inside), 4" x 3-1/2" (trees), & 2-1/2" x 1/2" (greeting banner)
  • Flowers for Every Season DSP:  4" x 1"
  • Champagne Foil Sheets:  4" x 1/2"

This card is definitely out-of-the-box! I love the wintry feel this card has. The blues and purples in the Snowflake Splendor DSP really give the feel of a cold, snowy day. You can find the DSP in the Aug - Dec Mini Catalog. Embossing the sky layer makes it look even better! I used the Winter Snow Embossing Folder from the Aug - Dec Mini Catalog to get this effect. How about those sparkly trees? They were made with the shimmery Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper in the Aug - Dec Mini Catalog. Once again, I used For Unto Us Stamp Set for the greeting.

One thing I haven't mentioned are the wonderful Pine Woods Dies that come in the bundle. This is the ONLY die set I've used on ALL three of these cards! How great is that?! You won't regret getting this bundle! So many different things you can do with it!

Above is another version of my wintry card. It's actually the card I originally made. I thought of the Winter Snow Embossing Folder later. Instead of embossing the DSP layer, I added some snowflakes from the Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes from the Aug - Dec Mini Catalog.

Can't forget that beautiful ribbon! I've been dying to use it on something other than a Halloween project, and I finally did it! It's the Metallic Mesh Ribbon, also in the Aug - Dec Mini Catalog. The ribbon helps enhance the wintry feel, I've got the compete supply list below the video, too.

The inside of the card is the same on both versions of my snowy card. I used the For Unto Us Stamp Set for the Sentiment, once again.

Dimensions (same on both cards):
  • Highland Heather:  5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (card base)
  • Snowflake Splendor DSP:  5-1/4" x 4" (base layer)
  • Whisper White:  5-1/4" x 1-1/2" (taller snowline), 5-1/4" x 3/4" (shorter snowline), & 5-1/4" x 4" (inside)
  • Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper:  4" x 3" (trees)
  • Metallic Mesh Ribbon:  7" (strip) & 6" (knot)
