Here's my first Darling Donkeys card. The donkeys in the stamp set are so darn cute! They're super quick and easy to color, too. This stamp set is a Level One Sale-A-Bration product, too!

I also used the wonderful Stitched With Whimsy Dies from the January - June Mini Catalog. I used the Blending Brushes to make the color background behind the donkey, and colored him in with Stampin' Blends. You can learn how to do this, along with everything else I did to make the card, in the video below.
The picture above shows two different ways to do the blending. The card on the left was my original card. I die-cut the stitched border first, and then added the ink with the Blending Brushes. As you can see, the ink around the stitching doesn't look as smooth as the rest of the piece. It kind of roughs up the stitching a bit. If this is the look you want, die-cut first.
The card on the right is the one I made in the video. I added the ink with the Blending Brushes first, and then die-cut the stitched border on this one. As you can see, the stitching has a cleaner look to it than on the first card, and the ink is smooth on all of it. So, if you like this look better, add the ink first.
I used the technique of adding a color background with the Blending Brushes, stamping an image, and then coloring it in with Stampin' Blends in another card, and you can find it by CLICKING HERE. I used darker colors on that card, too, which gave it a much different look.
Of course, I had to stamp the inside of the card, too. It gave me the opportunity to stamp another of the donkeys, and use two more greetings, from the Darling Donkeys stamp set.
