Easy Fractured Card Technique (2 Beautiful Variations!)

I’m so excited for this week’s Live because it’s packed with fun from start to finish! I’ll be sharing a sneak peek of brand new products I got at OnStage (Stampin’ Up!’s convention), showing you what I made while I was there, and flipping through some of the swaps I received. And of course, we’ll be making two gorgeous cards together using a technique that looks fancy but is surprisingly simple—the Fractured Card!

If you can’t join me live, no worries at all. You can always catch the replay after the Live is over and watch at your own pace. That way, you can pause, rewind, and craft right along with me whenever it works best for you. If you want to craft along with me during the Live, make sure to get the project sheet below!

During the Live, I’ll be teaching two variations of the Fractured Card. This technique gives you that beautiful, pieced look with angled sections, but it’s actually very easy to create. We’ll start with a basic version and then step it up with more designs and detail. Both cards highlight how you can take the same layout and create completely different looks just by changing your papers and embellishments.

The first card is a clean and fresh Fractured Card that features the Springtime Scenes Bundle, from the Online Exclusives, along with the Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper (DSP), February's Project of the Month. I used a design from the DSP that blends colors for a pretty color transition from Pretty Peacock to Petal Pink, which really makes the white pattern pop. The angled sections are made with Granny Apple Green Cardstock strips, and the sentiment, from the Springtime Scenes Stamp Set from the bundle, sits perfectly in the center on a diamond shape piece of Basic White Cardstock. I added a few Shades of Green Hexagons and some die-cut leaves and a flower made with the Springtime Scenes Dies from the bundle to bring everything together.

Inside the first card, I kept things simple and coordinated. There’s a strip of the same patterned paper along the bottom edge, which ties everything back to the front design. The rest of the space is left open so you have plenty of room to write your message. It’s one of those little details that makes the whole card feel complete without adding extra bulk.

The second card is a stepped-up version of the Fractured Card, and this one really shines. It features the Simply Beautiful Bundle along with the Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper...both from the January-April 2026 Mini Catalog. Each section of the card uses a different pattern, creating a patchwork effect that feels rich and layered. The bold Calypso Coral Cardstock framing the pieces really makes everything stand out, and the gold accents in the paper add just the right touch of elegance. Then I added some Pearlized Faceted Circles to the card to add a little sparkle. These three products are in the Lovely & Beautiful Suite.

Inside the second card, I used another coordinating strip of DSP along the bottom. This helps carry the design through the entire card while still keeping the inside clean and easy to write in. It’s a great way to use up smaller pieces of paper and still make everything look polished.

Project Sheet:

I’ve also created a project sheet for these cards to make things even easier for you. The project sheet includes pictures of both the outside and inside of each card, all the paper measurements you’ll need, and the full supply list. It’s perfect to print out or save so you can recreate these cards anytime you want.
