Scrap In A Flash! Camp Date Change

Well, the holidays are over. I can't believe it's 2009 already! Now that the holiday season is over, I can go back to posting every weekday again (except on rare occasions when something comes up to prevent me from doing so). There are some wonderful things coming up with Stampin' Up! The new catalog comes out January 19, and Sale-A-Bration begins February 1st and runs until March 31st. There will be more info. on these things later.

Now my first project for the new year...a 12" x 12" layout.

Supplies: Inspired by Nature Set; Cameo Coral, Close to Cocoa, Always Artichoke, & Baja Breeze Classic Pads; Blush Blossom, Close to Cocoa, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Cameo Coral, & Naturals White cardstock; Sponge Daubers, Stamping Sponges, Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Naturally Serif Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die, Extended Spacer Platform (comes with the starter kit and by itself), & Decorative Strip Cutting Pads (also in the starter kit and by itself).

This scrapbook layout is one of three 2-page layouts that will be made at my next Scrap In A Flash! camp. There will be 2 sessions you can choose from. They are on Friday, January 16--6:30 - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 17--10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The fee to make all three, 2-page layouts is only $18. If you would like to come, please let me know which day by Wednesday, January 14. I'll have another 2-page layout for this camp posted tomorrow. The picture on the right is the first page of this layout. To see a larger image of the page, click on the picture.

The page on the left is the second page of this layout. I love my new stamp set, Inspired by Nature! I've been wanting it ever since it came out, and was finally able to get it a few weeks ago. I've been chomping at the bit to use it, and I got my wish on Saturday. I really love how these pages turned out.

I learned at my last Stampin' Up! training day to use ink pads and sponge daubers to color large stamps. That's how I inked up the big flowers on these pages. It was so much faster doing it this way than using markers, and I love the texture you get when using the sponge daubers. Just dab the ink on and stamp! It's hard to tell in the pictures, but I sponged some Baja Breeze (blue) ink around the flowers to put some sky around them.

I also got to use my first alphabet die-cuts! I used the Naturally Serif Sizzlits Decorative Strip die. Have I told you how much I love my Big Shot Die-Cut Machine! I just purchased some more dies for it with birthday money my parents gave me, and I'm having a lot of fun with them! I love new toys, don't you?
