I Love These Cards!

It's Friday! Are you ready for the weekend? I know I am!

I got these two cards at a training night I went to back in September. One of my uplines, Tami Waddell, came to Indiana to lead a training day for us. She's from California, so we're always happy when she comes to town. She always brings us great stuff to learn!

The card on the left was made by one of my demonstrator/swap friends, Shirley Brown. She always makes beautiful cards! She's been in my swap group a little over a year now, and I'm so glad she joined us! I love how she made flowers with the Scallop Circle Punch. After punching out the scallop circle, she cut slits in-between each scallop to make the petals, making sure not to cut too much so the petals don't get cut off. Then, she sponged Riding Hood Red ink onto them for texture. The flower centers are circles punched from Bella Rose paper. I also loved how she made the leaves. She used an oval punch. After punching out, she folded them in half long ways and ran them through her paper crimper. Then she unfolded them and had great leaves!

The card on the right was one of the many cards we were able to make at the training event. I love the Inspired By Nature set! I've wanted it ever since I saw it. I can't wait to get it! We did one thing I've never done before. We used sponge daubers to ink up the flowers and leaves. You just put ink on the sponge dauber and dab onto the stamp. I brushed mine a little too much, as you can see by the lines in the flower image. The trick is to dab it on and not brush it across. I still think it turned out great!
