The star of tonight’s Live is the Bordered in Beauty Bundle, and it works so beautifully with the rest of the Beautiful Ordinary Life Suite. I love when a bundle has pretty stamped images and coordinating dies that help everything come together without a lot of fuss. The label on this card is such a sweet little focal point, and the “Cheers to you!” greeting, from the new Sending Salutations Stamp Set, gives the card a cheerful, send-it-to-anyone feel. It’s one of those cards that can work for birthdays, thank-yous, thinking-of-you notes, or just a happy surprise in the mailbox.
Tonight’s fun fold is a Swing Card, and it has such a neat “wow” factor! When the card is closed, it looks like a pretty layered card with a fun center panel. Then, when it opens, the middle section swings out and shows off the card design in such a fun way. I always love a card that looks impressive but is still easy to make, and this one checks both boxes. It’s a great fold to have in your cardmaking toolbox, especially when you want something a little different without needing a degree in paper engineering.
The Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper is a big part of what makes this card so happy. I used several of the patterns on the card, including the colorful striped paper, the soft aqua dotted paper, and the playful leaf design. The colors are bright and fresh without being too loud, and the different patterns work together so nicely. The DSP really helps show off the swing fold, because each panel gets its own little moment to shine.
I also used the Floral Flight Accents and the Array of Dots embellishments from the suite. That bold butterfly accent on the front adds such a pretty pop against the softer paper behind it. Then the Array of Dots adds just the right finishing touch. You know how I feel about embellishments — they’re like earrings for cards. The card is dressed, but the embellishments make it ready to go out.
The inside of this Swing Card is such a fun surprise! When the card fully swings out, it reveals the inside part of the card, and there’s plenty of room for your message. I stamped the greeting near the top and added a row of pretty stamped butterflies across the bottom to tie it in with the butterfly on the front, which is from the Floral Flight Accents from the suite. The side panels and striped DSP pieces continue around the inside, so the card looks finished and pretty from every angle when it’s open.
The project sheet for tonight’s card is ready for you, too. It includes the paper sizes, pictures, and the full supply list for the card. You can print it out or pull it up on your device and use it to follow along with me during the Live tonight. You can also use it to get your supplies together ahead of time if you’d like to stamp along with me. I always love knowing you’re crafting right along with me from your own craft room.
