On THE FIRST CARD for the class, I made zinnias using the single zinnia stamp and leaves stamp in the Simply Zinnia Stamp Set in the bundle. On today's card, I used the large stamp with 3 zinnias from the stamp set. If you look closely, the flower on the left has it's own stem, and the other two flowers share one main stem. I decided to color the flower on the left with Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends and the two flowers on the right with Highland Heather Stampin' Blends.
Instead of embossing the Lemon Lime Twist base layer, I decided to stamp the single zinnia stamp around the border of the layer using Lemon Lime Twist ink. I only needed to stamp around the border, since the center part of the layer is covered up with the DSP part of the card.
Speaking of the DSP, I used the leafy design from the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper (DSP) this time. The main color combo I used on this card...Blackberry Bliss, Highland Heather, Lemon Lime Twist, & Old Olive...is one I would have never thought of if Stampin' Up! hadn't put these colors together in this beautiful DSP. It's one I want to remember for the future!
I always feature an embellishment in my Card Class @ Homes. There is a beautiful sequin pack in this suite, but it isn't available right now (it'll be here around the end of the month). Thankfully, everything else in the Flowering Zinnia Suite Collection, including the Simply Zinnia Bundle, is available to purchase.
Since you can't get the sequins right now, I chose to use the Iridescent Foil Gems from the January-April 2024 Mini Catalog instead. They are clear gems with foil flecks inside of them. On the first card, I left them clear. This time, I colored the gems with the dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blend. I LOVE that I can make these gems any color I want with our Stampin' Blends! Get the Tips on How to Color Them in the Video Above. As you can see, they come in two different sizes, and I used two of each size. I wanted to add these pretty zinnias to the inside of my card, but I didn't want to color them. So, I stamped them with Blackberry Bliss ink, and I think they turned out beautifully!
