I do have quite a few cards I haven't posted yet, so you'll be seeing a lot more posts from here on out.
Now for today's post. I actually have 2 videos to share with you today! The first one is my August - December Mini Catalog Preorder Unboxing. This catalog really shouldn't be called a "mini" catalog. It has a little over 80 pages, and it's packed with so many wonderful new products! So many in fact, I was only able to get Fall and Halloween products for now. I do have one set that's in the Christmas section, and a couple others that cover a few holidays, but the rest are Fall & Halloween. I promise to have some new Christmas stuff to show you soon. My wish list of Christmas stuff in the catalog is SUPER LONG!
Now that you've seen what I got, you can now see my first card with some of the new Mini Catalog products.
This card features the Love of Leaves Bundle. I love the leaves in the stamp set that's in the bundle, and I love all of the stitched dies from the die set in the bundle, Stitched Leaves Dies. Isn't the texture in the leaf image wonderful? I love how there's different shading in the stamps.
The foil strip you see was made with the new Brushed Metallic Cardstock from the new mini catalog. It's not like our regular foil. It's got brush lines in it. I decided to dry emboss it with one of the new embossing folders from the mini catalog. You can see it better in the video below. The ribbon along the bottom of the foil is from the new Basketweave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack. It's the Mint Macaron ribbon in the pack.
The embossing folder I used on the foil has two folders in the set, and it's called Wrapped In Texture Embossing Folders. I used the other embossing folder in this set on the left side of the Crumb Cake layer. They really go well together.
I used new designer series paper (DSP) from the mini catalog to make the banner along the middle of the card. It's called Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP. I love the foil in the paper! You can see all of the designs in this paper pack in my unboxing video above.
It's very hard to see in the picture, but there are "stitched" veins in the leaf. I was able to make them with a die in the bundle. It looks so good in person. You can see it better in the video below.
The label for the greeting was made with a die in the Hippo & Friends Dies from the annual catalog. We have so many great stitched die sets!
I thought the leaf needed a little something more, so I took the copper trim from the same ribbon pack as the Mint Macaron ribbon talked about above, and tied it into a small bow. Then I attached it to the leaf with a Mini Glue Dot.
I did something different for the inside of my card, and you can see how I did it in the video below, too.
Dimensions:
- Mint Macaron: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
- Crumb Cake: 4" x 5-1/4" (embossed base layer)
- Very Vanilla: 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" (greeting label) & 4" x 5-1/4" (inside and leaf)
- Gilded Autumn DSP: 1-1/2" x 5-1/4" (banner)
- Brushed Metallic Cardstock: 4" x 1" (copper)
- Basketweave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack: 6" (Mint Macaron) & enough for bow (copper trim)
