Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog Product Spotlight Blog Hop - Cat Punch

Welcome to another day of the 2017 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog Product Spotlight Blog Hop! Today, we're all featuring the super cute Cat Punch.

I'm more of a dog person myself, but I have to admit, I do like this Cat Punch! I used it for a Halloween project, but it can easily be used for ANY kind of project. I love how it works with the Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies. The cat is the perfect size for that window!

I used the Spooky Cat Stamp Set that goes along with the Cat Punch. They can be purchased together as a bundle, too. Purchasing it as a bundle, instead of individually, saves you 10%!

I also used the Vintage Crochet Trim again! I can't believe how this is beginning to be one of my go-to items! I knew I'd like it, but not this much! It looks great on the two Christmas cards I made, but it also looks great on this cute Halloween card. Don't forget...you can get the Vintage Crochet Trim free from me with a qualifying online order this month. Click on the September Host Code picture below to find out how!

Dimensions:
  • Pumpkin Pie:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Basic Black:  (3) 4" x 5-1/4" (inside & outside base layers and window)
  • Basic Gray:  2-1/2" x 2-1/2" (cat)
  • Very Vanilla:  (2) 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" (embossed layer and inside of card) and 2-1/2 x 2" (pumpkin & greeting)
  • Spooky Night Designer Series Paper (DSP):  4" x 2" (Pumpkin Pie-designed paper) and 3" x 3" (moon & tree paper)
  • Vintage Crochet Trim:  6"

Instructions:
  1. Fold the Pumpkin Pie card base piece in half (fold on the left). Emboss one of the large, Very Vanilla pieces by running it through the Big Shot with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Attach the Pumpkin Pie-designed paper piece from the Spooky Night DSP across the bottom of the embossed piece. Wrap the Vintage Crochet Trim around the top of the DSP, attaching the crochet trim ends to the back of the embossed piece. Attach it to the center of one of the Basic Black pieces, and then attach it to the center of the card base.
  2. Die-cut the window and window sill out from one of the Basic Black pieces using both dies in the Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies. Put SNAIL Adhesive around all four sides of the underside of the window. Attach the moon & tree paper piece from the Spooky Night DSP to the back of the window (moon & tree side facing up).Trim off the edges of the DSP that are hanging over th window edges. Attach the window sill across the bottom of the window.
  3. Stamp the "Happy Halloween" stamp from the Spooky Cat Stamp Set onto the small Very Vanilla piece using the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. Ink the fat pumpkin stamp from the Pick a Pumpkin Stamp Set with the Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin' Pad. Remove the ink from the pumpkin stem using a Blender Pen. Put ink onto the pumpkin stem using the Soft Suede marker from the Neutrals Collection Stampin' Write Markers. Stamp the pumpkin onto the same Very Vanilla piece. Stamp the smiling/pointy-teeth pumpkin stamp from the Pick a Pumpkin set onto  the center of the pumpkin using the Memento Pad. Punch the greeting out with the Classic Label Punch, and attach it to the bottom, right corner of the card. Put one small black rhinestone from the Black Rhinestone Jewels  onto each end of the label. Die-cut the pumpkin out with it's coordinating die from the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits Dies, and attach it to the right side of the window sill.
  4. Punch the cat out of the Basic Gray piece using the Cat Punch. Stamp the cat face stamp from the Spooky Cat set onto the cat using the Memento Pad. Attach five, small black rhinestones from the Black Rhinestone Jewels around the cat's neck. Attach the cat to the left side of the window sill. Attach the whole window to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals (see picture for placement).
  5. Inside of the card:  Stamp the beakers stamp from the Spooky Cat set onto the bottom, right corner of the last, large Very Vanilla piece using the Memento Pad. Stamp the smallest, "potion" stamp inside the left beaker, using the Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the largest "potion" stamp inside the center beaker, using the Pumpkin Pie ink pad. Stamp the medium-sized "potion" stamp inside the right beaker, using the Cajun Craze Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the "Eat at your own risk" stamp next to the beakers using the Memento Pad. Attach the piece to the last Basic Black piece, and then attach it inside the card.
