Happy Memorial Day Weekend, everybody! I hope you're all having a great weekend so far! Memorial Day weekend is really big around here. I only live about 30 minutes or so from the Indianapolis 500 track. Since we live so close, we never get to watch the race live on TV. It's always blacked out...except for last year. They did let us watch it live since it was the 100th race. My whole life, every Memorial Day Sunday consists of going to church in the morning, and then listening to the race on the radio. When I was a kid, the race usually took most of the day. My dad would have a radio in every part of the house on so he wouldn't miss a thing. 😁 Nowadays, the race only goes a lot quicker! Boy, they sure drive fast now!
Well, back to Stampin' Up! stuff. Here's this week's Short & Sweet Saturday card. I used the new Daisy Delight Stamp Set again. I love this stamp set! This time, I didn't use the Daisy Punch that coordinates with it.
Speaking of the Daisy Punch, I have some sad news. My fellow demonstrators seem to love this punch as much as I do! Stampin' Up! (SU!) says they normally sell 7,000 of any given stamp in a year. They knew that the Daisy Punch would be popular, so they had 10,000 on hand. In the first 2 weeks of our preorder, we demonstrators ordered 7200! They knew they better order more, so they did. Now, all of the 10,000 have been sold, plus almost 1700 more! It takes awhile for the punches to be produced, so SU! had to make a hard decision. They're going to be putting the punch on the not-orderable list until they get the first shipment in. Thankfully, it should be available to purchase by the end of June.
- Pacific Point: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
- Crushed Curry: 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" (stamped layer mat
- Whisper White: 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" (stamped layer)
- Pacific Point 1/4" Stitched-Edge Ribbon: 5" and 4"
Instructions:
- Stamp the "thank you" stamp from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set across the top of the Whisper White piece using the Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad.
- Stamp the small, daisy outline stamp across the Whisper White piece (below the greeting) around five times using the Berry Burst Classic Stampin' Pad (see picture for placement). Ink the small, daisy bold stamp with the Berry Burst ink pad, stamp it onto a scrap piece of paper, and then stamp it onto the top of one of the daisy outlines (stamp off technique). Stamp the inside of the other four daisies the same way. Stamp the longest stem (with leaves) stamp onto the bottom of each daisy using the Tranquil Tide Classic Stampin' Pad.
- Stamp the shorter stem stamp across the bottom of the piece, making sure they're all below the daisy flowers. Stamp the coordinating eight-mini flower stamp on top of each stem (lining the flowers with the little branches in the stem) using the Crushed Curry Classic Stampin' Pad (see picture for placement).
- Stamp the five, curvy stems stamp across the bottom of the piece using the Tranquil Tide ink pad. Make a few of them shorter than the others. Stamp the coordinating five, vertical flower stamp onto the right side of each stem in a stem-bunch using the Pacific Point Classic Stampin' Pad. Do the same to each stem-bunch (see picture for placement).
- Attach the stamped piece onto the center of the Crushed Curry mat piece. Wrap the 5" piece of Pacific Point 1/4" Stitched-Edge Ribbon around the bottom of the piece, attaching the ribbon ends to the back of the Crushed Curry piece. Tie the 4" piece to the right side of the attached ribbon using a single knot. Fold the Pacific Point card base in half. Attach the piece to the center of the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Note: The ribbon used is called Pacific Point 1/4" Stitched-Edge Ribbon. I can't get it to show on my supply list below, but I should be able to get it added after June 1.
