Happy Monday, everyone! With Monday comes the Mojo Monday sketch. I haven't played along for a few months, but I made time to today! The sketch is MOJO286. I also changed my blog last night from a Winter one to a Spring one. It looks like winter here in Indiana right now (received around 7" of snow last night), but I wanted my blog to at least look like Spring! I hope you like it!
It's the last Monday of the month, so the sketch gives you the choice of making a circle or square card. I decided on a square card. I made this a 4-1/4" square card so that it would fit a medium envelope. This is also going to be one of the cards made at my Hello, Spring! stamp camp this Thursday, March 28. To find out more, and to RSVP if you live in the Mooresville, IN area, please go to my EVENTS CALENDAR.
The cross was made using the Lattice Bigz Die (p. 193). I've seen a lot of these the last few years, but this is the first one I've made. I punched three branches out of Lucky Limeade card stock with the Bird Builder Punch (p. 185). I intertwined them into the cross, attached them, and then trimmed the stems. The flowers were made with the flower punch in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (p. 183). I put large pearls on the top flowers and medium-sized pearls on the bottom flowers. The pearls come from the Pearls Basic Jewels Pack (p. 175). All of the flowers were put on with Glue Dots (p. 177).
The So Saffron layer was embossed with the Lacy Brocade folder (p. 36 in Spring Catalog), and then attached to the Calypso Coral card base. The flag is made from a strip of Tea for Two DSP (p. 3 in Spring Catalog). The bottom of the "flag" was made by punching it out with the corner of the 1" Square punch (p. 183), and then attached just left of the center of the card. Both long edges of a Very Vanilla strip were embossed with the cross-stitch folder in the Needlepoint Borders folders (p. 5 in Spring Catalog). One long edge of a Calypso Coral strip was punched with the Scallop Edge Punch (p. 183), and then the Very Vanilla strip was attached to the top of it. I stamped the greeting from the Trust God stamp set (p. 136) onto the right side of the Very Vanilla piece using Island Indigo ink. I then attached the above cross onto the card.
