Sneak Peek Set - Autumn Days

How do you like the look of my new blog? I visit other blogs, and a couple of them had just changed the layout of their blogs. I clicked on the link that was on their blog (now it's on mine, too), and found a great site with free blog layouts. I'll probably keep this one for awhile, unless of course they come up with one I like even better. I did lose some of the links I had on my sidebars, but it only took me a little while to get them back on and in the correct order.

Okay, back to today's card. I made this card for my husband on Father's Day. I really like this set. It's perfect for masculine projects. This set is called Autumn Days. I also used another sneak peek set, Teeny Tiny Wishes and a sneak peek punch, Modern Label punch.

How do you like the sunset background? I learned this technique from one of my demonstrator friends, Annette Harling. Would you like to know how I did it? Well, here's how you do it.

1. I put More Mustard ink on my brayer, and brayered over a piece of Whisper White card stock until completely covered.

2. I punched out a circle from a post-it note using my 1-3/8" circle punch, making sure to have some of the adhesive from the post-it on the back of the circle.

3. I placed the circle where I wanted the sun. Then, I inked up my brayer with Pumpkin Pie ink, and brayered over the card stock again. Then I removed the circle to reveal the More Mustard ink underneath.

4. Then, I stamped the wheat stalks using Chocolate Chip ink. I also sponged some Bravo Burgundy onto the Pumpkin Pie background for some texture. I stamped the pheasant on another piece of card stock and cut out. Then, I placed it where I wanted it in my wheat field.

Stamps: Autumn Days & Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip, Bravo Burgundy, & Not Quite Navy Classic Ink

Paper: Not Quite Navy, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, & Whisper White card stock

Accessories: Brayer, 1-3/8" Circle, Modern Label & Word Window punches; Paper Snips, Vintage Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot, Texture Plates Kit #4 Texturz Plates, & post-it note
