Tropical Chic Card - Tropical Escape DSP

Here's another card featuring Designer Series Paper (DSP) that's a part of the Buy 3, Get 1 Free DSP Sale this month. I'm having so much fun making cards with my new DSP! I placed my DSP order as soon as the sale started! LoL The DSP I used on this card is called Tropical Escape 6" x 6" DSP.

Want to see the other projects I've made with my DSP from this sale?  Click Here!

This is also the last card that will be made at my DSP Stamp Camp next week. I like all of the cards for this stamp camp, but I think this one is my favorite. The colors in the DSP are so pretty together!

This card also features the beautiful bundle that coordinates with the DSP called, Tropical Chic Bundle. The bundle includes the Tropical Chic Stamp Set and the Tropical Thinlits Dies. Purchasing the bundle, instead of purchasing both products separately, will save you 10%!

Dimensions:
  • Granny Apple Green:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Shaded Spruce:  3" x 2" (greeting tag mat)
  • Whisper White:  4" x 5-1/4" (embossed layer) & 2-1/8" x 11" (leaves, flowers and greeting tag)
  • Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper (DSP):  (3) 3/4" x 5-1/4"
  • Tropical Elements:  (1) leaf & (1) flower
  • Silver Baker's Twine:  4"
Instructions:
  1. Emboss the Whisper White embossed piece by running it through the Big Shot with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Die. Attach the three DSP strips to the left side of the piece (see picture). Fold the Granny Apple Green piece in half (fold on the left) to form the card base. Attach the Whisper White embossed piece to the center of the card front.
  2. Ink the widest palm leaf from the Tropical Chic Stamp Set with the Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin' Pad. Ink a Sponge Dauber with the Shaded Spuce Classic Stampin' Pad. Sponge the edges of the stamp, re-inking the dauber as needed. Stamp the leaf on one end of the long Whisper White strip. Repeat this step one more time to stamp the second leaf. Stamp the flower stamp onto the same piece two times using the Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the "You Are the Greatest" stamp onto the same piece using the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. Die-cut the leaves and flowers out with their coordinating dies from the Tropical Thinlits dies. Holding the Tailored Tag Punch upside down, line the greeting up into the right side of the punch, and  punch it out.
  3. Punch another tag out of the Shaded Spruce piece using the same punch. Cutting horizontally, cut the tag in half. Put SNAIL Adhesive onto the back of the greeting tag, and attach a Shaded Spruce piece to the top of the greeting tag, and the other one to the bottom, making sure about an 1/8" shows from the front on the top and bottom of the greeting tag. Attach the flowers to the left end of the tag. They will be hanging off the edge, especially the top one. Put a Stampin' Dimensional onto the back of the top flower, and two or three onto the back of the tag. Do not remove the paper-backing yet.
  4. Lay the tag down onto the center of the right side of the card. Holding the tag in place attach the palm leaves to the left side of the tag, tucking the bottoms of the leaves under the tag. Once the leaves are attached, Pick the tag up, remove the paper-backing from the Dimensionals on the back of the tag and flower, and attach it to the card.
  5. Thread the Silver Baker's Twine through the holes in a flower button from the Tropical Elements. Tie the twine into a double-knot. Trim the twine ends, and then untwist the twine ends apart to fray them a bit. Attach the button to the bottom, right of the tag with a Mini Glue Dot. Attach a leaf embellishment from the Tropical Elements, and attach it to the bottom right of the flower button with a Mini Glue Dot, tucking the rounded end of the leaf under the tag a bit.
Use SNAIL Adhesive when attaching, unless stated otherwise.
