My Hubby's Valentine's Day Card - 2018

I wanted to post this on Valentine's Day, but I was busy spending time with my Valentine! 😍 This card was great as a Valentine's Day card, but it would also make a great masculine anniversary card if the embossed Valentine message on the big heart is omitted. I love the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper as a background to the hearts and the copper embossed heart outline on the wood.

Dimensions:
  • Cherry Cobbler:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Soft Suede:  4" x 5-1/4" (base layer)
  • Crumb Cake:  3-7/8" x 5-1/8" (embossed layer) & 4" x 5-1/4" (inside of card)
  • Very Vanilla:  4-1/2" x 3-1/2" (hearts, leaves, & banner)
  • Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP):  3-7/8" x 3-1/2"
  • Copper Foil:  (2) 3-7/8" x 3/4"
  • 5/8" Burlap Ribbon:  (2) 1-1/2"
  • 1/4" Copper Trim:  (2) 1-1/2"
Instructions:
  1. Brush the Embossing Buddy all over the DSP piece. Stamp the vine-like heart outline stamp from the Sure Do Love You Stamp Set onto the left-side of the DSP piece using the VersaMark Pad. Pour Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder over the heart, and tap off the excess powder. Melt the emboss powder with the Heat Tool until raised and shiny (heat embossing technique). Attach one of the Copper Foil pieces across the back of the DSP piece, along the bottom, making sure about 1/4" shows from the front. Attach the other piece to the top of the DSP piece the same way.
  2. Emboss the Crumb Cake embossed layer piece by running it through the Big Shot with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Attach the DSP/Copper Foil piece across the center of the embossed piece. Then, attach it all to the center of the Soft Suede piece. Fold the Cherry Cobbler piece in half to form the card base (fold on the left). Attach the Soft Suede piece onto the center of the card base.
  3. Stamp the largest heart stamp onto one end of the Very Vanilla piece using the Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad. Brush the Embossing Buddy across the heart. Stamp the heart-shaped greeting stamp onto the center of the heart using the VersaMark Pad. Heat emboss the greeting with Copper embossing powder (refer to Step 1)
  4. On the same Very Vanilla piece, stamp the leaf branch stamp onto the piece four times using the Tranquil Tide Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the "I'm yours" heart stamp onto the piece using the Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the "always" heart stamp and the "be mine" heart stamp onto the piece using the Powder Pink Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the banner greeting stamp onto it using the Cherry Cobbler ink pad. Die-cut them all out with their coordinating dies from the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies.
  5. Lay one of the Copper Trim pieces along the center of one of the Burlap pieces. Attach one end to the back, left side of the large heart at an upwards angle. Attach the other Copper Trim and Burlap pieces the same way, but at downwards angle (see picture). Trim the ends at an angle. Attach the large heart to the lower right side of the embossed heart outline using Stampin' Dimensionals. Attach two branch die-cuts onto the bottom, left of the heart, tucking the branch stems underneath the heart. Attach the other two branch die-cuts the same way, but onto the top, right of the heart.
  6. Attach the "I'm yours" heart to the bottom, right of the large heart using a Stampin' Dimensional. Attach the "always" heart to the right of it, tucking the left side of the heart under the first one.
  7. Inside of card - Attach the banner greeting along the bottom of the last Crumb Cake piece. Attach the "be mine" heart to the top, left of the banner, tucking the bottom of the heart under the banner. Attach the whole piece to the inside of the card base.
When attaching, use Fast Fuse Adhesive, unless stated otherwise.
